An archaeological dig of the site of the Deloraine Probation Station was conducted in July 2011, prior to Meander Valley Council converting part of the area to a car park. The artefacts discovered dated back to 1843 and included china fragments, earthenware pieces and small storage jars. A virtually intact clay tobacco pipe was also retrieved.
