Description
Batt’s Cottage is a fully self-contained superb Georgian convict brick cottage at Bothwell. Built in 1840 and National Trust registered, the cottage has recently been tastefully restored to provide all modern facilities and conveniences whilst maintaining its historic, rustic charm. Bothwell is steeped in history, and is the natural gateway to Tasmania’s lake country, with world class trout fisheries, and boasts the oldest golf course in the southern hemisphere.
Description
There are two bedrooms, the main has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has two singles. The open plan lounge and kitchen has a large open log fireplace - which creates a romantic atmosphere whilst warming the whole cottage on cold nights. The fire is pre set and ample firewood is provided. There is also electric heating. An open vine covered courtyard with outdoor furniture and a large gas barbecue leads to a separate bunkhouse that sleeps five (One double, three singles). The lounge sofa converts to a double bed if necessary and additional fold up beds, a baby’s cot and a high chair are available on request. Basic breakfast provisions are provided which include tea, coffee, milk, a choice of cereals, fruit packs and a variety of spreads.
