The Honey Farm provides an exciting way to see honeybees up close. Have fun exploring a real beehive. From behind the safety of glass you can see how thousands of bees produce honey, watch the queen lay her eggs, and maybe even see a baby bee hatch!

The Honey Farm produces over 50 different kinds of honey. These include Tasmania’s Leatherwood honey and Tasmanian Manuka – a unique healing honey.
Free honey tasting is available and you don’t want to end a visit to The Honey Farm without trying the delicious honey ice cream – made with rich Tasmanian cream and local honey.
Taste the iconic Tasmanian Leatherwood honey - which is harvested in some of the most remote parts of the rugged wilderness. Or for the more adventurous try our Red Chilli Honey - delicious drizzled over a soft Tasmanian brie!
For cold winter nights there is our Honey Chocolate Paste - which makes a delicious hot chocolate!
There is even a honey for when you are feeling restless - a teaspoon of Aniseed honey in a mug of warm milk will have you drifting off to sleep in no time.
Discover the mysteries of the honeybee in the new fully interactive beehive in which the story of the Queen and Worker bee is told in a fun and lighthearted way. A collection of beekeeping artefacts and rare straw skeps tell the story of beekeeping in the early 1800’s.
Watch a Queen Bee lay her eggs in the honeycomb. See the worker bees spin the precious nectar into liquid gold... and maybe even see a baby bee hatch.
