Great Western Tiers Forest Walks is a Tasmanian nature-based tourism business specialising in the interpretation of Tasmania's magnificent natural old- growth forests. Our walks can be tailored for people of all ages, abilities and levels of interest.
Walks depart from Forest Walks Lodge, 669 Jackeys Marsh Rd, Jackeys Marsh at 10 am daily or on request. Bookings 1 day ahead are essential.
An easy-grade Rainforest Walk takes one to two hours over level terrain. This walk provides an exciting insight into Tasmanian's world famous rainforests. It is suitable for younger children and older people of reasonable fitness. $55 per person.
The moderate-grade Wild Forest Walk takes three to four hours and is partly off track. This is a walk that will interest most visitors to Tasmania as it provides a broad overview of Tasmania's typical forest and rainforest communities. $88 per person includes lunch.
The World Heritage Walk takes between six and eight hours and requires a much higher level of fitness and reasonable bushwalking experience. This walk takes you into the alpine wilderness. $165 per person includes lunch. One week advance notice is required for this walk and it is weather dependent.
Please bring warm and waterproof clothes and wear good hiking shoes or boots.
