Festival of Small Halls 2025 | Carrick (SOLD OUT)
Friday 3rd January
Full Admission – $15
Child Admission (Aged 16 and Under, Must Be Accompanied By An Adult) – $5
Carrick Public Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Panninher & Pallitore People.
Carrick Hall dates back to the 1900s. It is believed the original hall was destroyed by fire around 1898, and replaced by the current hall with a donation of land and financial support from Mr. Thomas Reiby of Entally – grandson of the lady whose portrait appears on the $20 note.
The hall has been witness to over 120 years of Carrick district and community activity. The first of many “Carrick Fair, Horticultural and Produce Shows” was held at the hall in 1905. The hall has also been used for concerts, dances, Scouts, Guides, bingo, indoor sports, cooking classes for young homemakers of the future, voting on election days and working bees (knitting and sewing) during two World Wars. The anteroom at the rear of the hall, complete with fire place, was used for many years as a reading and meeting room, and is still used today as the committee meeting room. The spacious hall, with a seating capacity in excess of 200, its rich history which can be felt as you step inside and its elevated stage, is an ideal venue for this festival.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Carrick on Friday, 3 January 2025 with Susan O’Neill and Monique Clare.
Opening the show will be local act Bella Dyer!
Bella Dyer is 21 years old and lives in Launceston with her family. She has always had a massive passion for singing. Some other things she gets enjoyment out of are spending time with family and friends, hanging out with her dog, going to the gym, and going on hikes and exploring. Bella finds singing and music a great way of expressing herself. Singing helps her with mental health and all round wellbeing. Throughout her schooling years she has had the opportunity to sing in school events and was lucky enough to be a lead role in a college production. She enjoyed all of these experiences immensely. These opportunities have enabled Bella to show her creativity and express herself.
Carrick Public Hall has accessible entry and has accessible bathrooms.
This show is supported by Meander Valley Council.
